The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority hosted over 20 media and content creators at an intimate culinary event, A Taste of Antigua and Barbuda , on Tuesday evening at EPOS Cafe in Yorkville, Toronto. Guests enjoyed welcome cocktails and mocktails before sitting down to a gourmet, five-course menu curated by Antiguan Chef Giovanni Meyer, and inspired by the history and flavours of the twin-islands.

Director of Tourism for Canada, Tameka Wharton welcomed guests and invited them to Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month this May to try the nation’s cuisine in destination.

Marketing and Communications Manager Kyle Christian guided attendees through dinner with descriptions and the stories behind each course.

Chef Giovanni trained at The Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI) and The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Carlisle Bay Resort and Sheer Rocks in Antigua. He worked at Michelin-starred A Voce in New York, and Toronto’s Constantine and Byblos restaurants.

Also in attendance was Canadian Chef, TV Personality and Author Devan Rajkumar, who will be in Antigua for Culinary month where he will be collaborating with a local chef at the Finale Beach Party and Cookout at Tamarind Hills.
