Tributes have been pouring in following the sudden passing of Kenneth “Zuki” Anthony, a founding member of the popular DumbzTree Carnival band in Antigua and Barbuda.
Digicel Antigua, a major sponsor of the local carnival scene, extended its condolences in a statement shared online. The company described Anthony as a “vital person” whose loss is deeply felt not only by DumbzTree but by the wider Digicel family.
“Zuki may you rest in eternal peace,” the statement read. “The contributions and legacy of Zuki undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the band and DumbzTree Thursdays.”
Prominent cultural activist Bonita Williams also expressed her grief, writing: “Zuki, I am lost for words… this hurt me so bad. A real real real friend you be.”
The cause of death has not been made public. News of Anthony’s passing has left many in the carnival and entertainment community in shock, with tributes highlighting his long-standing friendships and impact on the cultural landscape.
Anthony played a central role in shaping DumbzTree into one of the most recognisable names in the country’s Carnival celebrations.
