Ministry of Health & The Environment, Antigua and Barbuda: The Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Sir Molwyn Joseph, has received an encouraging update on Kishon John, who traveled to Colombia for urgent medical treatment for Hodgkin Lymphoma.

The Minister is very pleased to hear that Kishon is making positive progress in his treatment and remains optimistic about his continued recovery.

Before departing for Colombia, Kishon and his mother met with Minister Joseph to personally express his gratitude for the government’s assistance in facilitating his care.

His journey was made possible through a collaborative effort between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda through the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) and the Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF).

The total cost was US$80,000, with CAF and MBS each contributing 50% of the funds to ensure Kishon receives the necessary medical intervention.

The Minister expressed sincere appreciation to the Calvin Ayre Foundation for their generosity and continued dedication to charitable initiatives in Antigua and Barbuda.

He noted that the CAF’s ongoing commitment to supporting critical healthcare needs and other social causes is highly commendable and a testament to their investment in the well-being of the nation’s people.

In addition, Minister Joseph extended his gratitude to Chief Executive Officer-Kevin Silston, Board Secretary-Valsena Tannis and the MBS Board for their dedication and efficiency in executing government policy.

Their commitment to ensuring financial assistance and access to urgent medical care for citizens in need continues to strengthen Antigua and Barbuda’s healthcare system.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda remains steadfast in its mission to support citizens requiring specialized medical treatment that is not available in Antigua and Barbuda.
