Potters Steelers wracked up their 10th win in as many games in Division 1 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition on Thursday, as they remain unbeaten with an 84-60 triumph over All Saints Slam at JSC.
Cohen DeSouza led the charge for Steelers with a game-high of 23 points while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing six assists as they dominated the contest throughout all four quarters.
Steelers outscored their opponents 16-9 in the first quarter, 23-20 in the second, 19-18 in the third and 26-13 in the fourth.
Lindsay McDonald also contributed the winning cause with 16 points off the bench while Devon Benjamin and Keroi Lee both picked up 15 points. Lee also pulled 15 rebounds.
In a losing effort, Humroy Wright top-scored for Slam with 16 points and four rebounds while Wilkin Floyd sank 12 points.
There was success as well for defending champions Flyers, as they enjoyed a 102-41 blowout win over Ottos Full Throttle also at JSC.
It was all Flyers throughout the contest as they dominated the first quarter 22-10, claimed the second quarter 29-14, took the third 30-8 before closing the contest with a 21-9 dominance in the fourth.
Alexis Jackson led the scoring for Flyers with 26 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Adonis Humphreys contributed with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Selassie Brathwaite had 16 points off the bench. Javonte Daley chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds.
For Full Throttle, Morlon Davis top-scored with 12 points while grabbing six rebounds. Akeem Davis picked up nine points off the bench.
