In the latest round of Ministry of Sports School League Under 15 cricket action on Wednesday the Antigua Grammar School (AGS) continued their impressive form in both age groups. The AGS U15 team demolished Ottos Comprehensive U15 by 168 runs, reaching 180 for two in their 15 overs with Player of the Match Shane Walsh scoring 62 (8 fours, 2 sixes) and Isaiah Harris adding 43*. Ottos were then skittled for just 12 runs, with Tiandre Charles taking remarkable figures of 4/4.
Another match saw Pares Secondary School posting a competitive 101 for six in their 15 overs, propelled by Tayari Tonge ‘s explosive 27 off 19 balls (3 fours, 2 sixes). The Watson brothers, Tazio and Tavin, contributed 11 runs each, while SNRA’s Raffique Mohabir was the standout bowler with three for 18.
SNRA’s reply has struggled at 29 for two in 4.1 overs before the rain intervened, with Shawn Harris(16*) providing the only resistance. Man-of-the-Match candidate Tonge claimed both wickets to fall, showcasing his all-round abilities.
Earlier in the week, AGS U19 were on course for victory against Jennings Secondary when rain interrupted play. Jennings had posted 150 seven in 17 overs, with J’Quan Athanaze smashing 52 off 28 balls and Nazair Williams contributing 38. AGS had reached 55 for three in 8.3 overs when the match was abandoned.
Jennings Secondary also featured in a low-scoring victory over SNRA in an earlier fixture, successfully chasing 81 for four with a score of 84 for two in 11.3 overs, led by captain Estan Hill ‘s unbeaten 30.
