Nearly 100 patients have received life-changing eye surgeries at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, as part of a continuing collaboration between its Ophthalmology team and the Trinidad Eye Hospital.

The latest round of operations included cataract removals and pterygium surgeries, targeting common conditions that affect vision and overall eye health.

Patients also received post-operative care to support their recovery and ensure successful outcomes.

Health officials say the initiative reflects a sustained commitment to tackling preventable blindness and visual impairment, while highlighting the value of regional partnerships in delivering specialist care.
